PM to provide an update on overseas trips

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is expected to provide an update in Parliament today on official overseas trips taken by his Coalition Government members so far.

This will be in the form of a response to Opposition MP Premila Kumar’s oral question.

Kumar will be asking the Prime Minister to inform the house on the number of official overseas trips taken by Ministers and Assistant Ministers from when they took office in December 2022 till March 2024.

The Prime Minister will also be questioned about how much the Government funded for these trips.

Rabuka can provide a direct response or use Standing Orders 45(3), where he will write to the Member of Parliament later, answering the question.

18 Annual Reports of Government Statutory Bodies will be tabled in Parliament for its Consideration.

At the same time, eight Oral Questions will be directed to the Coalition Government, while three Motions are expected to be considered and debated.

Parliament sitting will commence today and end on Friday.
