Tracks upgrade to complete by next month

The two-million-dollar upgrade of the HFC Bank Stadium tracks is anticipated to conclude by next month.

The Fiji Sports Council says the restoration works on the synthetic tracks are in the final stages.

The Council on 4 September 2023 embarked on a journey of transformation, entrusting esteemed Australian company, Sphynx Solutions Pty Ltd, with the task of supplying, installing, and commissioning a fully upgraded track system.

Despite some unavoidable delays due to rainy weather and soccer tournaments, the project is still on track for completion.

Council chairman, Gilbert Vakalalabure, expressed the Board’s confidence in Sphynx Solutions, emphasizing their trust in delivering the project as per the specified scope of work.

He said the upgrade speaks volumes about their commitment to raising the standards of sports infrastructure in Fiji.

“Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the Fiji Government for their timely assistance, ensuring that our athletes and track users receive a state-of-the-art facility that aligns with international standards.”
