The Vodafone Flying Fijians successfully defended the Pacific Nations Cup today after beating Samoa 38-16 at Apia Park.

Halfback Henry Seniloli in his first start of the season proved to be a standout for the Fijians as he grabbed a hat-trick of tries in the match.

Seniloli grabbed a double for Fiji in the first half while Samoan Captain David Lemi scored their lone try and flyhalf Tusi Pisi kicked three penalties as the hosts led 16-14 at halftime.

The second half belonged to the Fijians as they scored 24 unanswered points.

Seniloli, centre Jale Vatubua and Api Ratuniyarawa scored tries while Ben Volavola successfully converted all the tries and kicked a penalty.

The result sees Tonga accompanying Fiji to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan from Oceania.
