The book is authored by Shashank Nigam, founder of SimpliFlying which is one of the world’s largest aviation marketing, branding and communications consultancy firms.

“Shashank is widely considered one of the most entertaining and original speakers on the future of aviation, marketing and sustainability.”

“His expertise in the aviation industry has been recognized by several prestigious organizations. He has also widely featured in publications such as The New York Times, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.”

Three editions of SOAR have been published across the world, including two special editions on SAUDIA and WestJet.

Fiji Airways is the third special edition featuring in chapter one of the book.

SOAR has been described as the definitive book on airline marketing & branding with more than 20,000 copies in circulation.

“With each chapter dedicated to one airline, SOAR is based on revealing interviews with Senior Executives, managers and front-line staff. I am delighted at how fittingly Chapter One describes our collective journey to strategically elevate the national airline.”

“There is much to digest and so many insights that speak to our motivations, and the calculated steps we have taken to reach the heights of commercial aviation,” Viljoen added.

SOAR was launched by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Finance and Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, Professor Biman Prasad at the Fiji Airways Aviation Academy in Nadi yesterday.

“I am left with a deep sense of pride, admiration and joy at what Fiji Airways has been able to achieve, and what this means to Fiji.”

He said to have a respected and widely followed aviation branding and innovation consultant select Fiji Airways for a special edition speaks volumes about the hard work that has been put into the airline for close to a decade.

“I’m pleased to note that the book does not simply heap praise on Fiji Airways but dives into the strategies, the culture, the people and the vision of the company.”

“It is an engaging and enlightening chronicle of how our airline set about elevating itself to become the best in the region,” said Prasad.

The publication encapsulates Fiji Airways extraordinary journey of systematic transformation over the last 10 years to be considered one of the leading commercial carriers in the world.
